Each divan drawer measures 81cm × 58cm × 15cm and runs on metal runners. This size isidentical across every bed size.
Will my divan base arrive in one piece?.

What is an ottoman bed?
A storage bed whose entire base lifts on a gas-lift mechanism to reveal a full-width compartment under the mattress. Unlike drawer storage, it uses almost the whole footprint of the bed. Imaani ottoman beds use a sturdy metal gas-lift system, so the base rises smoothly with minimal effort.
How does the gas lift work?
Gas-filled struts take the weight of the base and mattress, so the bed opens with lighthand pressure and stays held open while you load or unload. You close it by guiding thebase back down. No lifting strain, and both hands stay free.
Does ottoman storage open from the side or the foot?
From the foot end. The base hinges at the head and lifts upward, so you need clear floor space at the foot of the bed rather than beside it.
How much room do I need to open ottoman storage?
Enough clear floor space at the foot of the bed to stand and swing the base upward.Worth checking against a footboard-facing wardrobe, a radiator or a door that opens inward.

Yes. An ottoman opens at the foot, so it doesn't need clearance at the sides, which is exactly where a divan's drawers need space.
How much storage does an ottoman bed give me?
Storage across the full area of the bed, rather than the 2 or 4 drawer boxes a divan gives you. The compartment is 25cm deep, in a base 35cm high, and those measurements are the same on every size from Single to Super King, so a Super King gives you the most because it's the widest and longest, not because it's any deeper.
How much weight can I put in an ottoman storage bed?
We'd suggest keeping the contents to around 25kg, spread evenly across the base rather than piled at one end.
What fits in 25cm of depth?
Spare duvets, pillows, bedding sets, towels, out-of-season clothing and cabin-sizedcases all fit comfortably. A large upright suitcase is likely to be too tall, so measure itbefore you count on it.

Does the mattress slide when the base is raised?
No. The top of the base is finished in a non-slip fabric that holds the mattress in place as the base lifts, so there's no retainer bar to work around.
Is there a locking catch to hold the base open?
No, the gas struts alone hold the base up, and they're rated to hold it steady while you load and unload. Lower it deliberately with a hand on the base rather than letting it drop.
Are ottoman beds safe around children and pets?
The struts hold the base open until you deliberately lower it, so it won't fall shut on its own. There's no separate locking catch, so supervise children around an open base and make sure it's fully closed before anyone sits on the bed.

Yes, the wings are part of how the headboard is built, so it arrives as one piece.

What is a bubble bed?
A bubble bed is an upholstered bed whose headboard is formed from rounded, cushioned segments. It is a soft, pillowy surface rather than a flat or squared panel. It ditches straight lines and hard corners for something rounder, softer, almost cloud-like.
Why boucle is chosen for bubble beds?
Boucle looped, textured pile reinforces the rounded shape of the segments, which is why the style reads soft rather than structured.
Can I have a bubble bed in another fabric?
Yes, you can chose your preferred fabric from any of the 40+ fabrics. Bouclé is the most-chosen finish for the style, not the only one.
Does boucle snag?
It can. A looped pile will catch on zips, jewellery and pet claws, that's inherent to boucle as a fabric rather than anything specific to ours. If that's a concern in your household, a plush velvet gives the same shape without the loops. Order swatches and test both.
What colours go well with bubble beds?
Cream, ivory and stone or other neutral palette colours suit bubble beds the most due to their cloud-like feel. However, any of the 40+ fabric colours can be specified to order, including darker velvets if you want the shape without the pale palette.
Do boucle bubble beds show marks more than velvet?
Boucle's texture hides light marks well, but the pale colourways in the current range areless forgiving than a mid-tone velvet. Free swatches let you test in your own home first.

What do bubble beds cost?
Bubble beds range from £269 to £500 across three designs.
How do I clean bouclé?
Vacuum with a soft brush attachment and blot spills immediately rather than rubbing, which can distort the looped pile. Never pull at a loop that lifts, trim it level instead.
What is a panel bed?
A headboard built from flat or channelled upholstered sections with defined edges, giving a structured, architectural look rather than a soft or buttoned one.
What is vertical channel tufting?
It divides the headboard into long vertical padded columns, so the surface catches light down its length and adds depth with a unique style.
What is an extended full-width panel headboard?
One that runs wider than the mattress, with side panels continuing across the wall to create a built-in feature-wall effect with no building work. Each side panel adds 45cm, so allow 90cm of wall beyond the width of the bed. The Icon Cream uses full-width extended side panels.

Are they comfortable to lean against?
Yes. Channel-tufted panels are padded across their full surface, so there are no hard buttons or ridges pressing into your back when you sit up.
Can a panel bed sit under a window?
Yes, but a tall or extended panel will cover part of the window, so measure floor-to-sill first. Height is made to order, so you can specify one that stops just below the sill line.
Panel bed or high headboard bed?
Panel describes the construction while high headboard describes the height. A tall panel bed is both.
Which fabrics suit a panel bed?

What is diamond button tufting?
It draws the upholstery inward at regular points with buttons, creating a raised diamond grid across the headboard. It's what gives Chesterfield bed its depth and tailored character, and Imaani tufts by hand.
Is a buttoned headboard uncomfortable to lean against?
Buttons sit recessed below the raised diamond sections, so contact is with the padding rather than the button itself. Some people still prefer channel tufting for long periods sitting up in bed, it all boils down to your personal preference.
Is it harder to keep a chesterfield bed clean?
The recesses around each button collect dust more than a flat panel, so vacuum with a soft brush attachment and work into the tufted seams. Blot spills promptly rather than rubbing.
Are Chesterfield beds old-fashioned?
The tufting is traditional, but the effect depends entirely on fabric and height, a tallChesterfield in charcoal or silver velvet reads as contemporary and luxury styling rather than period furniture.
Chesterfield bed or wingback bed, which one is better?
A Chesterfield bed is defined by its deep-buttoned diamond tufting; while a wingbackbed is defined by its forward-projecting side wings. Cooper, Lester, Sutton and Hertfordcombine both.
