5ft King Size Beds

A 5ft King Size Bed doesn't just add inches to the bed, it changes the whole physics of sharing a bed, less midnight border disputes, more actual sleep. It's the size that stops pretending everyone sleeps like they did in a Double, and finally gives a bedroom the scale to match.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

An Imaani Home king size bed is a 5ft king, built to the standard UK king mattress size. It's about 15-17cm wider than a 4ft6 double and 10cm longer, so it's worth considering if you are over six foot, the extra length matters as much as the width. Every 5ft king size bed frame is handcrafted to order in Yorkshire in your chosen fabric, headboard height and base type.

All of them except for kids beds. King size ottoman beds, king size divan beds, king size TV beds, king size wingback beds, Chesterfield, panel, bubble, Ambassador and high headboard king size beds are all available in 5ft. Headboards are made to order from 45 inches up to 80 inches, so a king can carry a full-height statement headboard without looking out of proportion, at this width, a tall headboard tends to read better than a short one.

Yes, and at this size the storage is substantial. A king size ottoman bed lifts at the foot end on gas struts, opening the full 150cm x 200cm footprint to a compartment 25cm deep. The depth is the same on every size we make, so a king holds noticeably more than a double simply because the area beneath it is larger. You choose whether the base sits open to the carpet or on fitted base boards.

Yes. King size TV beds take any smart TV up to 47 inches and under 3 inches thick, raised and lowered by remote handset or a button on the frame. The television isn't included, we build the bed and the lift mechanism into the footboard. Most king size TV beds also combine the screen with gas-lift ottoman storage, so you get both in one frame. The lift runs from a standard UK 3-pin socket on a 1.5 meter cable, so plan for a socket within reach of the foot of the bed.

Plan from the frame dimensions on the product page rather than the mattress size, because upholstery, side rails and headboard depth all add to the footprint. Leave enough clear space to walk around the bed and open wardrobe doors, and remember an ottoman base needs clear floor at the foot to swing open. If you're choosing an extended wall-panel headboard, each side panel adds 45cm, so allow around 2.4 metres of clear wall for a king.

A 5ft king gives each person around 75cm of sleeping width, which is a real step up from a double and enough for most couples. A 6ft super king adds another 30cm across, but it needs a genuinely large room to avoid dominating it, and both sizes are 200cm long, so you gain width, not length. If your room is under about 3.3 meters wide, a king is usually the better fit. We make mattresses in king size too, including the Rein 4000.
